Our Mission

Sharing Christ’s Love with People Everywhere

Christ Presbyterian Church, Fernandina Beach, exists to glorify God by making disciples of all nations through:

Savoring Christ’s love for us,

Sharing Christ’s love with one another, and

Sowing Christ love in the world, as we resource new church plants.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Our Vision

Christ Presbyterian Church aims to be a leadership greenhouse, energizing and  developing Christian leaders, who are shaped by God’s Word, moved by God's love, and fulfilling God's purpose for  their lives, as we help to make disciples through starting new churches in North Florida and around the world. We seek to develop leaders who are led more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus, and lead more to Jesus.

Our Values

Teaching the Word of God

Since the Bible is God’s fully true Word of love for his people, it is the center of everything we do, both as the content we teach and the methods we use. As content, it is the foundation of all our teaching, preaching, and study; as method, it shapes all aspects of our church, such as worship and discipleship.  (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

Savoring the love of God

We worship a relational God who calls us into a loving and personal relationship with Himself.  Savoring his love is the most filling and fulfilling aspect of life.  As a church we encourage our members to walk by faith in relating to God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Each of God’s people is to glorify and enjoy God by relating to him in worship (corporate and personal), Word (preaching and personal study) and prayer (corporate and personal).   (Deut. 6:4-5)

Sharing the love of God with one another

God redeems us as individuals from the world to form us into a people for himself, a new covenant community. In this community we are deeply committed to one another relationally.  “Love each other as I have loved you,” John 15:12. The church as the family of God welcomes, knows, loves, serves, and cares for one another with heartfelt intentionally. “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Eph. 4:32)

Sowing the love of God in the world

The Great Commission. Since everyone needs to know the love of God that is only found through Jesus Christ, we seek to make disciples of all nations as we share God’s love in word and in deed. We endeavor to communicate God’s love through the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ as well as through gospel deeds of compassion and mercy helping those around us.  (Matt. 28:18-20)

Relating as real people

The Bible calls us to authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, other believers, and with those not yet a part of the covenant community. Jesus first calls us to a relationship with himself, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” John 14:6. We are secondly called to relationship with others for genuine community.  Finally, we are called to those outside of the covenant community, in order that the Word of God may be shared. “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation,” Mark 16:15.

Planting new churches

Christ makes disciples for himself most effectively through local churches; therefore, Christ Pres aims to help start churches in Florida, across the US, and around the world. We will seek to raise up leaders and resources for these churches, and cooperating with other agencies, launch out church planting teams.
